Background of the Study
Twitter threads in Nigeria have become microcosms of digital discourse where morphosyntactic variations emerge as users negotiate meaning and express identity. This study explores how the structure of Twitter threads influences morphological and syntactic constructions, leading to innovations that deviate from conventional language norms. Nigerian Twitter users often employ unique punctuation, abbreviations, and sentence structures to overcome character limits and to emphasize points in extended discussions (Eze, 2023). The research investigates the interplay between digital constraints and linguistic creativity, analyzing how morphosyntactic variation reflects broader cultural, social, and technological trends. The study also considers the role of code-switching and language mixing in shaping these variations, offering insights into the evolving nature of digital language in Nigeria. Statement of the Problem
